If I were the editor of Defiance I would have chosen to portray the scene were the group finds the scout with Tuvia shooting the guard in the head. The most "decent" way to take care of the situation without endangeringthe group would be to kill him quickly. If you took him as a prisoner he would take away from the miniscule food supply, and if you let him get away he would report your position to his commander.
